Hey guys,
my MacBook Pro (Early 2011, 15" Antiglare-Display, AMD Radeon 670M 1GB) shows 2 (sometimes also only 1 or 3) vertical stripes in different colours (see attached photo). I thought it would be the standard graphic chip problem and went to the Apple Store this week to verify this. They made a test and told me it`s not this standard-graphic-problem that so many 2011-MBPs had. They said that the problem probably anyways lies in the graphic chip, but didn`t made any further tests (they won`t repair it anyways since 2011-MBPs are "vintage" in their view, what a shame!).
Today i installed gfxCardStatus and recognized that switching between the cards won`t change anything and connecting the MBP to an external monitor showed that everything was completely fine there. No i assume it`s either the MBP-display thats broken or even better maybe only the connection to the display. What do you think? Has anybody had the same problem and found a sloution?
best
Daniel
