MacBook Pro 2011 (new) how much RAM used at startup?

Hi,

1) do the new (2011) MacBook Pro 17" come with Snow Leopard (10.6) or just Leopard?

2) how much initial RAM is being used by the Snow Leopard? What are tips/tricks to not load unimportant applications at startup?

Largely irrelevant, just grab 8GB of RAM and don't worry about it. Almost nothing unimportant will be loaded on a fresh set up.

My 15" 2011 MBP uses around 1.9 GB free on startup.
