I've been having a problem with my 2011 Macbook Pro OSX Lion 10.7.5 USB port for a couple of days now. It started when I brought my Macbook over to a friends house and when I got there the USB port would no longer detect my Razer Deathadder mouse. I was flustered by this so I tried everything I could think of to fix it since I had only bought my Deathadder a few months ago. My mouse would work on my friends laptop and his mouse would work on mine, but my mouse wouldn't work on my macbook. After reinstalling the operating system and after reading through countless threads I still couldn't figure out the problem until I checked the USB port and noticed there was a considerable amount of dust collected in the USB port. I wiped it out with a Q-tip and my mouse was working once again. Today more problems started to persist and my mouse will randomly stop working (usually mid Starcraft II game, my luck) and I will have to unplug it and replug it back in plus jiggle it a litte bit to get it to work. I went to the store and bought some air duster to clean out the USB port, but the problem still persists. I even went out and bought another cheap Logitech mouse from Wal-mart and the same problem happens with that mouse as well. I'm fairly certain it is the USB port that is causing this problem, but I have no idea what to do to fix this without having to send it in to apple and pay gobs and gobs of money to fix it. If anyone has any suggestions of a quick fix that may work, that would be greatly appreciated.
