Macbook Pro 2011 - thin sound?

I just got my MBP 2011, and while it's fast and all i notice that the sound from the speakers are a lot thinner than on my early-2008 MBP. Feels like it's lacking bottom-end.

Anyone else experience this? Is there any chance the subwoofer could be disabled?

Is this a 13" or 15" MBP?

Oh sorry, yeah it's a 15" (2.3/4GB).
