Hey folks,
I have a MacBook Pro i7 15” from 2011 which started showing signs last year of yet *another* failing dGPU/logic board. Forecasting this, I retired the machine and have moved onto newer hardware. I do from time to time still boot it up in order to access some random files and tinker. I should point out that having been stung by a failed GPU before I made sure to follow the tricks of disabling the system from using it, relying solely on the iGPU which lets be honest, being an Intel HD3000 is dire.
While installing some updates I noticed some major display glitches, so I decided I’d run the AHT in order to catch any abnormalities out as I had caught failing memory out at the same time as noticing the GOU failing last year. A few minutes in, this happened (see attached). I’ve ran this test before with a failed dGPU without issues. What could possibly be causing this now?
Thanks,
Lewis
