Macbook pro 2012 logic board in 2011 unibody

So I understand that the LVD cable on the 2011 macbook pro model does not fit the 2012 logic board, but after researching for a bit i would like to know the following. It seems that most lcd screens that are being sold online for the A1278 model is universal, but the logic board connector is different on the 2012 model vs 2011 model. If i buy a 2012 LVD cable and would it connect it to my current 2011 LCD so that i dont have to make some half-a** modification to make the cable attach to the logic board ?

Its a 13inch unibody macbook pro in case it matters .

I have taken a logic board from an early 2011 13" and put it into a mid-2012 13". Everything lined up perfectly and everything worked.
