Hello everyone, hoping someone out there could help me get this issue resolved.
I have a Mid 2012 MacBook Pro with an Internal SuperDrive. I also have a LiteOn iHAS-124B DVD Drive which I initially used in my Desktop PC. I am now trying to use the LiteOn drive with my MacBook Pro, and have a USB 3.0 to SATA Converter with an external power source so the drive powers on fine. The problem is that the drive is not recognized by the MacBook Pro. I have tried editing a few system files and even called Apple Support and I cannot get it recognized. I imagine it's just an issue with OS X and that it is not made to recognize external DVD Drives that aren't manufactured by Apple. But I figured I would see if any of you know of any tweaks to get the drive recognized, even if it involves removing the recognition of the SuperDrive. Thanks in advance bros.
