Macbook Pro 2016 everything disappeared from the desktop

Have a 2016 Macbook Pro and everything disappeared from the desktop when I opened the computer. The desktop is just empty completely, some files are also missing.

Been so disappointed with this laptop, been having so many issues with it.

Are you using another computer (iMac) and removed them from your desktop on that machine? If so and you have iCloud syncing your desktop, your MBP is just staying in sync with iCloud.
