Does anyone else notice a rattle either coming from the screen or the keyboard (body of the computer) when the computer is slightly shaken side to side? It sounds like a "clunky" rattle... I just want to make sure this is normal.

I had an issue with an older MacBook Pro that had a screen that was not seated right that sounded somewhat similar, but this could be something totally different -- or so I hope!

It's a design flaw, present in MacBooks / MacBook Pros since 2015, with the light guide plate in the display - perfectly normal.

If you pinch the screen and shake, it won't rattle. If you close the lid and shake, it won't rattle.

Once you've finished trying those two scenarios, stop shaking your MacBook and use it normally.

It's a known flaw that won't cause any issue other than the rattle itself. There is nothing to check or repair, it's an inherent minor defect in the design of all recent MBP displays. Don't worry about it, keep on using your Mac normally.

"MacBook Pro 2016 TB Rattle When Shaken"

Solution:
Don't "shake" it, and it won't rattle.

Who here normally shakes their MacBooks during daily usage?
(I've owned MacBook Pro's since 2010, and have never once felt the desire to shake them!) ;)

Clearly you just don't love it enough...

It has occurred in some units since the retina. And probably will occur until OLED replaced LCD as the display technology.

We have discussed this numerous times. Here is a long thread on the issue, https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/dear-2017-mbp-owners-–-do-you-have-that-rattle.2052250/

My advice is to enjoy your computer and not worry about this minor annoyance.

Why are so many people shaking their MacBooks?!?!

It's not a maraca...
