Hi!

I have orderd the 15 inch 2017 MacBook Pro 5 times. Each time I receive it, its something wrong. The first time the keyboard did not work. The second time the screen popped each time I opened it. The third time it rattled when lifting it. The fourth time it rattles and parts are loose in it. if I lift or move it, you can hear the loose parts. I am getting a 5th replacement now. If its something wrong with it I give up.

My question is, is the MacBook Pro shipped with to little protection? Does it get ruined in the postal handling? I have ordered full spec, and therefor it is shipped from china. or is it something fundamental wrong when putting the Macbook pro together.

Would love some thoughts on this.

If the rattle issue you are talking about was when you shake the machine side to side, that has been very common since the first retina macbook, and there is likely nothing you can do about it. There is a plastic sheet in the display that diffuses the backlight so the screen is evenly lit. It needs to be slightly loose since it can expand a bit. You can hear it thunk when it slides around. It is nothing to worry about.

Feel free to search this forum. This a common complaint.

I ordered my 2017 15-inch from Apple but chose to do in-store pickup so that I could verify in front of them that it was working as designed the moment it was opened. It was still shipped, but it was shipped to the store - so perhaps it went with their regular other product shipments I don't know, but since it was customized I had to wait for them to order it in. Perhaps you ought to give that a try? Mine was perfect.

Yes, the sounds is very close. It is also there when I take it both ways thou or shake it.

But i also got rattle when tapping my finger on the mousepad. Its like the pad i loose or something. So i had to change it anyway.

I have never heard that rattle before? The one you posted over. I have had many different macs. You are saying each mac is this way?

Not everyone, but it is fairly common. Lots of threads and youtube videos on it.

I suspect mine might do it, but I don't shake my computers

Thank you for the feedback. This is no problem them?

Also, if you tap hard - many times -on the touchpad - does it rattle? Mine makes a loud rattle noice.

The screen rattling is a known design flaw that has no practical consequences aside from the rattling itself. Keeping on exchanging machines because of it is useless, as all of them will have the same problem by design (regardless of whether is shows up from day one or not). I can also confirm that the touchpad is prone to rattling when intentionally tapped hard. I used two MBPs with the 2016 chassis so far and both were exhibiting these problems.

The good news is that none of these two issues will impact the functionality of the machine: just don't shake or tap your MBP and it will work 100% normally.

Alas, the same can't be said for the unreliability of the keyboard, which is a major issue of the latest MBP redesign.

Chances are, if you don't "shake" the MacBook, it won't "rattle".

I've owned my 2015 retina MBPro for almost a year now, and not once ever have I felt the compulsion to "shake it"... ;)
