Hi everyone, I just received a 13" MBP 2017 model for my work. I have a 2015 13" model at home for my personal use and that thing runs like a charm.

However my new work computer's battery drains at an unbelievable rate. I plug it in at night and when I take it out for work within an hour minutes I'm running at 46% and within 2 hours it's dead. I'm not doing anything special, just working with google docs or light web browsing. I've tried all the tricks (auto-sleep, etc) and this drain still takes place. Is this common? Do the new computers just consume energy at that level?

I'll add that my home computer I do some video editing and stuff and I can do all that and still be at 80% battery.

Open Activity Monitor, what's running at a high CPU usage?

If you've just got it, it's probably running encryption/photos and stuff.
