Hello, I own a 2017 MacBook Pro and I have upgraded to each new version of MacOS since. I'm contemplating doing a clean install as over time, I feel my MacBook has become a tad slower. I'm just wondering if or how often some of you guys go through the same ritual of starting from scratch with a clean install.

Also, if I do go through with a clean install, would restoring my MacOS settings be counterintuitive? I'm not too worried about applications or files as I can always redownload them or restore them from the cloud.

Any thoughts or feedback would be greatly appreciated!

I've got a 2016 15-inch MacBook Pro that I'm using currently to test the beta. It has all the software that my 2018 has on it, and I did an upgrade from Catalina on it. Once the final version of Big Sur is released I'm going to do a clean install and start fresh on my main machine. My data is in the cloud pretty much, so I'm just going to start as fresh as possible with clean setup of everything: accounts, settings, apps, etc.
