Hi

This may be a very weird question, I have a 2017 Macbook Pro with touch Bar, last year (2020) it suddenly started saying an update was required and my touchbar wouldnt work and was stuck in a weird update loop. The store here said nah its a goner.

So i had it under my bed for a whole year, remembered it the other day and turned it on, and voila it worked. Touch bar works, everything. It was on mojave, so I have updated but every now and again the touch bar disappears and the camera does also. They just flat out stop working and system profiler says no device.

i power off and on and its all there, it also seems to hang at shutdown sometimes. and is usually safari related. I was wondering if anyone has experienced this. Could it be cable? Could it be HDD or software related? Disk Util has weird HDD names going on which I havent seen before and theres no recovery Partition available. Touch bar also gets super hot!

Any ideas?
