So I currently have a 13inch Macbook Pro 2017 Non touch bar, i5 processor, 8GB Ram and 512gb internal space. I am planning to upgrade, I don't like this years Macbook pro's and last years have a touch bar which I don't like. So my only option is the 2020 Macbook Air.

My usage is basically heavy web surfing, I have like 3 browsers open with like 10 tabs open in each, I mostly watch videos or movies and do web surfing.

One of the main reasons for my upgrade is that the battery on my current laptop is pretty much dead, In order to change it over the place I am at, it will cost around $350 to $400, now spending so much just for battery, I would rather get a new laptop as I am getting around $150 off on the Macbook air. I was having screen problems before also but they are ok now, I guess cause of the screen my webcam works on and off even though I hardly use the webcam so it makes no difference to me.

So How is the M1 Macbook Air? are there any problems with it? Will it be a good upgrade for me?

Your suggestions will be really helpful.

Macbook Air willl be perfect, it is an awesome machine and very capable even though it is their "lowest" offering.

It will be like when we updated from HDDs to a SSDs speed-wise. But I think you should get 16 GB of memory to future proof it.
