Macbook Pro 2018 speaker pops when scrubbing video

If I move the playback cursor while watching any video there is a pop/crackle coming from the left speaker. This occurs in Youtube or a locally played video. The weirdest thing is that the pop/crackle comes from the left even if the audio is panned full right.

This is different than the continuous crackling sound that others have described; only a single pop/crackle when video playback is interrupted and restarts. Also, it doesn't happen if the video is paused and restarted, only when the playback cursor is moved during playback. This occurs only with video, and only through built-in speakers, not headphones or an external audio interface.

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue, if it's common, and if it's known to be a hardware or software issue. It's not super annoying, but if it's a hardware issue I guess I'll take it in.

haha, thanks. i have been following that thread.

i thought it might be worthwhile to break out different audio subsystem problems separately since not everyone has been having all the same problems.

i have never experienced the regular static or crackle problem.

i guess no one else was interested.

Hi there! Do you have any news regarding this issue?

I have also this problem with my 2019 model, and the last 3 weeks i have spent a ridiculous amount of time doing troubleshooting and talking with Apple representatives with no luck.

The worst part is that people who also have this problem simply don't care and don't even leave any feedback to Apple regarding this.
