Hi everyone,

I recently performed a thermal paste replacement on my 2018 13-inch MacBook Pro (model A1989) and reassembled the unit using my iFixit Pro Tool Tech kit. While the laptop appears to be functioning normally in most respects, my Touch ID is not responding at all.

I’ve double-checked all the internal connections and reattached every cable with great care. Given that the Touch ID sensor is integrated into the top case along with the keyboard and Touch Bar, I’m wondering if the issue could be due to a misalignment or an improperly connected cable, or if it might indicate damage to the sensor itself during the reassembly process.

Has anyone encountered a similar problem after doing thermal paste replacement or any other repair on this model? I would greatly appreciate any detailed troubleshooting tips or recommendations for a step-by-step video tutorial or online guide that specifically addresses Touch ID issues in the 2018 MacBook Pro.

Thanks in advance for your insights and any helpful links!
