My external monitor is dying for my 2019 Macbook Pro (1 TB SSD model). I'm looking for suggestions for an ultrawide monitor (or altenrnative). I want to make sure that whatever I get, I can take advantage of the correct resolution with MacOS and look as good as possible. I've been considering the following via Amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07TXM7K4T/?coliid=I7FJZ3CVAKE2E&colid=2GUZELWRCM0S0&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it

Do I need a different HDMI chord (other than standard) to get the most out of either of these? Would I be better off with a different monitor all together?

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greately apprecaited. I can't spend a fortune, but would like a monitor with a high resolution and as much screen real estate as possible. I use my mac for work and video editing primarily.

Thanks so much!

I wouldn’t buy off Amazon... too overpriced. Try eBay if the seller is legit or buy secondhand..

I got a stunning LG TV from 2017 plus a chromecast for $35 with all the manuals and it was secondhand/used..

Much cheaper that way..

Good luck!

If you're in the US, can also look at newegg.com, very good for online computer / electronics, and historically been considered with good customer service.

In terms of monitor, I've had a 27" LG 4K external monitor (the 27-UD68W) for ~4 years and have loved it, using with my 2016 13" MBP in closed clamshell mode primarily while working from home.

For 27" monitors, "Looks like 2560 x 1440" in my view looks best from a text size / real estate balance. That's what the iMac 27" also runs in terms of "looks like" resolution, w/ a 5K resolution running HiDPI retina mode. Buying a 5K 27" monitor is expensive, which would give true pixel-doubled 2560x1440, but I've found macOS does a great job making the "looks like 2560x1440" look great even on a 4K monitor. And LG has had some very well priced 27" 4K monitors, so here's 1 perspective.

The monitors you linked to all seem to be ultra-wides. I don't know firsthand, but I've seen a number of threads that macOS doesn't do ultra-wide resolutions that well, and things can look blurry. Might warrant taking a look
