Hi Guys,

Just a quick one really... I recently purchased a 13" MacBook Pro 2019, the one with two Thunderbolt 3 ports. My first Macbook and I absolutely love the machine! it's great to finally be able to use a Mac on the go.
My question is this... I also own a 2019 21.5" iMac with Thunderbolt 3 ports... am I able to charge my Macbook from these? Not too bothered if it charges it slower.. just wondered if I could use the iMac to charge my MacBook Pro overnight for example.

Hope everybody is keeping busy during these uncertain times!

Ashley

The maximum power output from the iMac's ports is 15W, so it will slowly charge your MacBook.

I thought this would be the case, many thanks! Just to keep it topped up overnight really so its ready to go in the morning... I plan to keep my charger in my bag for travelling.. I have limited wall outlets at my desk! Thanks again.
