Hi

Fairly new to anything Apple, just ordered an iMac 27" for the first time.

My PC Laptop just died and my wife has lent me her MacBook Pro to get used to the system before my new toy arrives.

Here is the question...I would like to upgrade this MacBook Pro for her as a thank you but I know she wont want to change as this has the silver keyboard so I wondered if a SSD could be retro fitted...?

Anyone done this?

Spec:

Hardware Overview:

Model Name: MacBook Pro
Model Identifier: MacBookPro3,1
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
Processor Speed: 2.2 GHz
Number Of Processors: 1
Total Number Of Cores: 2
L2 Cache: 4 MB
Memory: 2 GB
Bus Speed: 800 MHz
Boot ROM Version: MBP31.0070.B07
SMC Version (system): 1.16f11

Help would be much appreciated. ta.....

Sure you can stick an SSD in there.

thanks for the reply..any idea how easy this would be and what sort of ssds are available and could a total moron in the middle of Mexico could do this?

thanks again...

There are more screws than the unibody, but it's not a huge deal to take apart. iFixIt has a guide. I'd get an Intel or Samsung SSD.
