Today I upgraded three of our Macs for more RAM. Two MBP 5,1 (late 2008) received 8GB upgrades. When I upgraded one of them, one of the RAM socket brackets (the small plastic levers) broke off. The material was very brittle, for some reason. Now the new RAM is held in place only by one lever. This is not optimal, obviously. Has anyone experienced something like this? Any idea how to make the RAM stay in place better? The machine is 3 years old, so I don't mind if I have to glue the RAM down, if it has to be...

Im afraid you will have to glue it down but make sure you use non-conductive glue. Ive broke one before and its both side. Its the outer RAM so i didnt really care as when you screw the bottom panel on, it will automatically be pushed down
