Macbook Pro 5.3 Memory Advice needed.

Please can you help? I have a Macbook Pro 5.3 purchased in June 2010 and I need to upgrade the memory as I have used half of one and three quarters of the other DMM. Please can someone tell me what I need to buy to upgrade and how I would go about installing it? My computer knowledge is poor!

Does my information reside on the DMM? Would I need to transfer my information and how would I do that?

As you can see I need to be real "Mac for Dummies" explanations!

How much RAM do you have at the moment? You don't need to transfer anything, just replace the RAM and that's it. It likely has 4GB atm so you need 8GB
