I am having an issue with my 6,2 MacBook Pro. Every 48 hours or so I will suffer a kernal panic. This usually occurs around 60 seconds after I have woken the machine from sleep, in that 60 seconds the machine works fine.

Here is the crash report:

Does anyone have any ideas of what is going on?

Thanks

I'm not really skilled at reading these, but I'd guess that there's an issue with VMWare. Are you using the latest version, or a version that is compatible with your system? If a file is corrupt, maybe try uninstalling it and then reinstalling it.

Another possibility: are you maxing out the usage of your RAM? A faulty stick of RAM in your system can induce kernel panics, and virtualization - by virtue of utilizing a lot of RAM - tends to bring the bad sector into play more frequently than normal usage. It wouldn't perfectly explain the fact that the kernel panic occurs when coming out of sleep, though.

Thanks for that, I'll keep an eye on VMWare, see if that is a common denominator. I am also running Rember to check my RAM.

Your error is actually from the nVidia drivers causing a fault.

The VMware is really what you're running at the time of the fault. I'm guessing your video card could be overheating causing issues. Try blowing it out with a can of compressed air. I noticed mine sometimes has a kernel panic but after cleaning the vents it's been a lot better.

One other possible issue is something wrong with either the GPU driver, or the GPU itself. Did the issue start with a specific OS update, possibly? But I'd also say that VMWare 3D acceleration could be conflicting with the graphics driver.

I might try to run a hardware diagnostic using the installer DVDs. Not sure how well the diagnostics catch GPU failures though.
