Looking for help. I know that the new MacBook Pro power adapter automatically provides the correct output for what ever apple product you plug into it. In other words, if you plug in your phone to it, it will only provide the correct volts and amps for that device.

Does anyone know if it does the same for third party devices??? I would like to use it to charge my power bank, as well as my heated hoodie power bank but I don't want to ruin them by providing too much power...

Thanks for any help!!!

It’s not that the adapter delivers the correct output. It’s always putting out a steady 85 watts. Rather it’s circuitry in the device being charged that only allows the proper voltage to make it into the battery. Apple makes sure this circuitry is in all its products. Without it smaller batteries would quickly be fried. Third party devices may or may not have this adaptive charging feature. It’s up to you to find out.
