LCD screen had some dead pixels so replaced it. Backlight did not work, so put old screen back in. Still no backlight but can see dim desktop and external monitor works fine.
Replaced LED driver board (often mistakenly identified as "inverter") and cable, still no backlight. Replaced Mag-safe board, still no backlight. However, now notice that the backlight does flash on for about a 1/2 second when awakened from display sleep. (Think it does the same thing at start-up, but it's hard to tell because of the neutral background). It's also possible that it was flashing on before I swapped all the parts and I didn't notice.

Anybody have an idea on what's going on?
