Macbook pro A1226 posts via SMC bypass?

Well I received a Macbook Pro A1226 and it seems that the unit will only power on once a SMC bypass is preformed. The battery indicator light is green, and of course no battery in attached. However once I shut down the computer remove the mag safe and attach it, without performing a SMC bypass the unit will not power on, and the light stays green even with a battery attached. Any help would be great.

Battery light green, even with battery in it. Battery light green, even without battery in it. I'm not sure what you're getting at there at all.

At any rate, just so we're clear, are you actually referring to SMC bypass, or SMC reset? (because they're two entirely different things.)

The magsafe light is green and does not change to orange was the battery is inserted. I have confirmed that its a good battery. The unit will only power on when the SMC is bypassed. Fans run fast. once I remove the magsafe and plug it in to turn it on normally it does not turn on.
