MacBook Pro A1226 trackpad and keyboard no longer functioning

Hello,

I recently purchased a new MacBook Pro 15" A1226 topcase and keyboard. I have the keyboard installed in the topcase. I connect the ribbon cable to the logic board and turn it on from the power button on the topcase (which makes me think that the ribbon cable is not broken). However, neither the keyboard or trackapd work.

Whenever I connect the old topcase, everything works.

Is it possible that I was duped on eBay and was sold a dud, or did I do something wrong while installing it?
