Hi Guys,
Hoping to get some feedback/help and possible solution as to why the magsafe charger LED is dim green (constant) and will not charge battery.
I have done the following:
1) SMC Reset did not work;
2) New battery fitted, and the laptop works as advertised, however the battery will not charge;
3) DC IN board was replaced;
4) Cleaned the board will iso alcohol;
5) Different charger utilised with no such luck;
6) G3HOT (3.4v) is evident at the test points;
So from here im guessing i have an issue with either U6901 or U6900. I have a schematic, but unfortunately i have been doing it the hard way to try and establish which ICs are actually the above (Nil PCB/Boardview). I guess what i am after is guidance to ensure that i am on the right track, and a potential screen dump of the above mentioned chips if possible please. I have a Macbook Pro Model A1278 i5 2.3GHz early 2011 laptop. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Dan
