received this A1278 intel core 2 duo 2.4Ghz. Item powers on and works however it does have some symptoms. For some reason when the notebook is positioned normal where the screen faces the user the computer slows down and the fans start running really fast. When I flip the computer where the screen is facing the ceiling and the underside is facing the user the fans stop running so fast and the computer as normal. I did an ASD test and found got SMC I/O failed. I then turned it on the around facing the ceiling and didn't receive the error. I did it both with the battery plugged and an unplugged. I had read the post below that the battery can be the issues however I am getting the same results with it plugged or unplugged.
