Macbook Pro acting up

Looks like it might be graphics related but im no expert. Telling folks the year/model/specs might help others narrow it down further.

It's a 15inch late 2011. Can't get other specs at the moment as the computer isn't here at the moment.
 
Yes. That confirms my suspicion. I had that same model and had issues with my graphics card in that machine. I brought the machine to Apple and they replaced the logic board, display, and internal display cable. Since it is out of warranty they charge a flat rate of $310. If you do a search for "2011 MBP and graphics card" you will turn up some more info. I had no other issues after that. I then sold my 2011 mac and bought a rMBP within 3 months of the repair. I would recommend you and your sister do the same thing if possible.
 
hmph... very weird, made me want to itch watching that.

I hope you get it fixed soon!

It seems like 2011 was a very bad year for MBP, I keep reading about lots of issues.
