MacBook Pro Airplay with Apple TV image in lower left corner of screen only

I am using Airplay to display a 2017 MacBook Pro on a TV using an Apple TV. Recently, the image has appeared in the lower left corner only on the TV screen. The entire screen was there, only it was shrunken and in that corner. This only happens intermittently. To fix it, I needed to turn Airplay off and then back on again. Is there a setting or something I should do to fix this?
