So here's the deal..
I've got the all-silver macbook pro [old, but i got it less than a month ago]. It's a 2.5ghz, 2gb ram, 250gb HD rockin 10.5.5.

i've got a belkin N1 Vision router and comcast cable. physically hooked to the back of the router is my dell desktop and ancient powerbook. the iphone and macbook pro use wifi [as well as the wii and friends who come over]. wireless works great every time. macbook pro reports full bars 98% of the time [after all, it's usually less than 10 feet away from the router].

but lately, the macbook has taken a liking to only allowing ichat to function. firefox and safari acts as if airport is not connected, my shared documents are unavailable, mail wont connect, itunes doesnt work...NOTHING is working except for ichat.

when this happens, the iphone and wii still have full internet access on the wifi, and both dell and powerbook have no issues..so it's safe to say it's not the router or the internet connection.

is there some secret "ichat only" option i've somehow enabled?

turning off airport, waiting a few seconds, then turning it back on seems to be the only solution for me..but this gets frustrating. especially when trying to watch a movie streaming from the desktop.

thanks!
