I want to watch my iTunes purchased movies in iTunes while sending the audio portion of the movie to my Airport express... I am familiar with AirFoil, but it doesn't work to play iTunes purchased movies.... I can play movies on my iPad and send the audio to AE why not from the macbook pro?

Is there any new "plug-in" or software update that would allow this functionality?

Thanks in advance, Jeff

I've played movies from iTunes via AirFoil…must be a DRM thing with the movies you've got, or something else.

AirPlay itself won't play audio from movie files over your network (.mov format, for example). Maybe that's changed recently, but I doubt it.

Did you try playing it with another player besides iTunes and using that with AirFoil? Ideally you'd select AirFoil video player because it will keep the audio in sync with the video.
