I just got a new HP LP3065 monitor and had it connected to my Macbook Pro via the DVI acble and everything was working. That is until today. It doesnt detect my monitor anymore. Any help appreciated.

Have you tried restarting the computer and the monitor? Maybe reconnecting cables or testing monitor with different computers? The simplest problems are most often overlooked.

ensure cables are connected securely.

ensure monitor is turned on and to the correct setting (dvi or vga, for example, depending on which you're using).

system preferences > displays > detect displays should bring something up.

if you're still not seeing anything, try another cable. if you're doing dvi -> vga -> monitor, check the adapter, or try using a dvi -> dvi cable if you possibly can.

Everything is connected fine. Tried new cable.

When I got to displays, it changes the screen (on the macbook) to a lower resolution and shows me 2 windows for 'Color LCD'. Detect displays does nothing when I press it.
