MacBook Pro and Max/MSP

Good morning,

I'm looking to buy a MacBook Pro, mostly to run Max/MSP live performances. I'm stuck between the mid 13 inch retina, and the base 15 inch (both 2014).

I'm just wondering, if everything else being equal, if the quad core will make enough of a difference to justify the extra money. Will the dual core be enough to run intensive patches?
