Macbook Pro and Time Machine

I recently have migrated to MACS.

I own an iMac and now a year later a Macbook Pro.

IS it possible to use my1Tb LeCie external hard drive that is wired to my iMac using Time Machine for backup, as the same external back up for my new Macbook Pro using Time MAchine on my Macbook Pro via WIFI between my MacbookPro and My Imac thru to the external LeCie drive? (Sorry if this seems so convoluted). Thanks Bob ?

Yes, but run the first backup via ethernet. Instead of two days, it'll take two hours.
