ok so I recently had my modem give up the ghost on me and want to use my desktop PC to play some PC specific video games. The problem is, that they require an active internet connection.

There IS a wireless but I can't use a wireless adaptor as my computer has rejected every single one I've tried thus far.

What I want to know is if I can use my macbook pro's airport as a modem, grabbing the wireless signal that it has no trouble connecting to, and sending it via a lan Router to my PC. Can that be done?

You can make an ad hoc network from your MBP through your system prefs. Go inot internet sharing and make sure it is enabled. My past experience with this is that the shared connection was very slow but you can give it a try.

alas, after trying it out, I can't seem to get it to work. It appears that the lan cable is overriding my airport and won't let it get internet connection from the wireless while I'm plugged in.
