Macbook Pro as external display for Windows Desktop?

Hi,

We have 2 Macbook Pro's - one is running OS X (10.6.8) and the other is running Windows 7 (only).

We have a desktop PC which is running windows 7 and want to connect this to the Macbook Pro to use the Macbook display - is this possible? We have purchased a VGA cable and a Mini DVI to VGA adapter cable from Best Buy (they said it was possible to do it). However, when the desktop is connected to the Macbook Pro (the windows 7 one) the screen goes black and we cannot switch to either the Macbook display or the desktop display.

Any ideas?

That is not possible. The macbook only has display output, not input.
