Is there any cables or cords I can purchase to use my 15" Macbook pro (late 2008) model as a monitor for my xbox 360?

To prevent myself from looking like an idiot, I'll admit I highly doubt this - but there are a few ports which I have no idea what they're used for. It would be nice if there was some sort of adapter or plug that could connect to my Xbox AV cables.

No.

The graphic card port (mini DisplayPort) allows no video in, USB and Firewire and Ethernet port are for data transfer, the ExpressCard slot is for extending your ports - maybe you can find something for this.

Or you get a video capture device using the USB or better the Firewire port.
Example: http://www.elgato.com/elgato/int/mainmenu/products/Accessories/Video-Capture/product1.en.html or http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...video+capture+hardware+mac+os+x&aq=f&aqi=&oq=
So it isn't possible as is, but I could purchase the elgato adapter to connect my xbox 360 to my macbook pro.
As this person has done with their Wii: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O9Jq9kWyWKU

Great to know its possible. I'd just have to dish out $150 for the cables, when I could get a 19" monitor for roughly that price.

Thanks for the quick response.
