i am using a macbook pro (I don't think this really makes a difference) and have a repetitive task - os 10.5.8

email that i need to change subject line to

I drag email to desktop then open in text edit, change subject line, then copy to inbox.

I think I have to perform this in two automated tasks -

1- shortcut key or automator task that selects msg, opens text edit

2-selects msg, opens msg, copies to inbox, throws desktop copy into trash.

I am having difficulty getting this to work in automator.
any help is welcome

automator macbook pro help

the attached is what i have but it is not very quick in the second step - I think because I recorded the steps.

is there a way to make it "not a recording" rather accomplish what it recorded so that it is quicker?

thanks
