Hi everyone,

Another problem has happened again. Kinda stinks that there's another problem with my macbook pro after I just installed and SSD and more RAM :(

So, I noticed the battery life in my macbook pro (15" 2009) has improved a little after the upgrade but it doesn't hold its charge as long and the battery makes my computer really hot.

I clicked on the battery and it said "Service battery" with a warning logo.
It says take in my computer for service.

But, I found a battery for my macbook pro online for $100 and I already have the tools to fix it.

Will I save money instead of the apple store?

Thanks,
Rockwell

Is it an OEM apple battery?

Well if you check on forum, many say that after market battery doesn't last long and it won't give you any advantage. See if apple will replace your battery and how much they will charge. There's a chance that they don't have that battery anymore. If you plan to use this laptop for another 3-4 years, then yes it's worth going to apple.

Ok,

I think I will hang on until it dies. I work on a wacom cintiq most of the time.

Will this last me until late next year until I can afford the new macbook pro's?

Thanks for the help
