So my battery is at about 60%, and my computer is about 1 year and 1.5 months old. The battery life has been attrocious for the past 6 months. I called apple, and the support lady said I may be able to get a new battery, and I may not. Normally if you are within the 1 year warranty or have Applecare, annd the battery is under 75% and under 300 charge cycles, they will replace it.
She talked to a "product specialist". and he said since I am out of warranty, they will not cover it. I thanked her for her help, and said I would like to speak to someone else to express my disappointment. So she forwarded me to another product specialist, and he said right off the bat, "sir, id like to start by saying Im sorry about the other product specialists decision, and would like you to know I disagree, and will replace the battery for you". I was thrilled, and said he saved me a lot of time and allowed me to keep my cool, because I was ready to get angry about the decision, since my computer is just 1 month out of warranty, and this problem has been ongoing for the past 6 months. He said I agree, I would be angry as well.
Anyways, I just wanted to share my story, for 2 reasons, anyone with battery issues, you may be entitled to a replacement. And secondly, I am pleased that apple decided to stand behind their product even though I am out of warranty...it took a little digging, but they came through for me.
Thanks Apple!
