Hey guys,

So I am looking to replace the battery in my Macbook Pro Mid 2009 15" (Macbook Pro5,3) and am having a little trouble finding a replacement.

iFixit is currently out of stock (and those are used, I would prefer to buy new). And OWC (macsales.com) seems to only have the battery for the late 2008 MBPs

So basically I am looking for recommendations of batteries and where to buy them.

Also, while I am capable of doing this myself, any idea how much it would cost to get it done at an apple store?

Any help is appreciated

Thanks a bunch

Thanks for the replies/info guys.

Looks like going through Apple may just have to be done... but just in case, any recommendations for 3rd party batteries? Or is it not even worth it?

I wouldn't trust or recommend any battery that didn't come from Apple.

Not sure I'd trust the ones from Apple either. 118 cycles used and its swollen to the point where the trackpad is unusable... and this is after following the guides on how to take care of the battery.

... and swollen batteries like this represent a miniscule percentage of the millions of batteries Apple sells. It's by no means a common issue.
