I am having problems with my MBP's battery. I keep it plugged in unless I am not at my desk. It has been plugged in for the last 24 hours. I was working on it with it plugged in. After getting it to come on, I noticed that the battery was dead. It started charging back up, so I though nothing of it.

I just looked at it and it is not at 3%. I do not see what the problem is. I am not doing that much on it. I am converting a file with VisualHub and looking at a PDF. Any ideas?

All they are telling me is that the computer is plugged into to power but it is not charging. When it dies, it charges up, then it stops charging when it is turned on.

Wait, "I" or "They" pick one. Are you in possession of this laptop, or is someone else?

Regardless, open /HardDrive/Applications/Utilities/System Profiler.app

Click on Power on the left hand side.

This is what mine is showing (the words between the ** are me telling you what the previous entry means)

Go to the System Profiler, and copy and paste the above data from it back to here in a post. We can tell you what the status of your battery is. Paste the information both with your charger plugged in and unplugged. Lets see if there is a difference.

I recently saw a post about someone playing WOW without their battery in their MBP, turns out that it underclocks the CPU when you run on AC without the battery, as the AC power supply, under certain circumstances will not have the ability to apply enough power to the laptop.

Maybe what your doing, with VirtualDub, is too much for the power supply, and your battery is almost toast.

I have narrowed the problem down to VisualHub. When encoding videos, it does not charge, but as soon as I stop it works fine. But here is the System Profiler settings.
