I recently purchased a 15" MACBOOK PRO (2.8 Ghz, 4GB) and the battery is lasting less then three hours. Is anyone else having similar performance? Apple is advertising 7-8 hours.... It's also a little annoying because it's a non-removable battery so I would have to send the laptop back to get it fixed/exchanged.

You also have to calibrate your battery. Here's a good article:

Your battery is actually in pretty good shape. Try the calibrating and also try an SMC reset.
Try turning the LCD brightness down a notch, and make sure bluetooth is turned off if you dont need it.
