mbp i brought since dec 09 has been doing some wierd beeping sound recently most notably when i just tilt the laptop a bit sidewards.

it has also frozen twice and with the beeping sound on constant in 3-5 sec bursts.

the origin on the beep i think is on the bottom right of the mbp which i assume is the hdd?!

any help would be appreciated thanks

Sounds like the sudden motion sensor. Did you change the drive? If not there is a firmware update you may be able to do. You can also disable the sensor on your mac.

I swapped my 320 gig for a 500 and mine beeps from time to time. I cant do the firmware update, when I tried to run it my laptop said I don't need to. I was going to try and disable the sensor on my mac to see if it works (my drive has its own sensor) but I have been to busy.....

open terminal and type
Code:
sudo pmset -a sms 0
this will disable the Sudden Motion Sensor.

thanks

what about the random freeze with the constant beep which only leads me into doing a hard restart for it to work again. is it something to do wiv my hdd? its happened twice already
