Hi everyone,

A while ago, the right speaker of my MBP 15" 2017 stopped working just by playing a strange sound while watching Netflix. Was officially bought in January, so warranty still applies. I took it to the authorized service center (there was no Apple in that country) and got it repaired. I guess what they had to do is changing the whole "body" including battery and the keyboard, but since that, I feel like the whole Macbook structure is kinda flexing a lot more.
I checked the store and devices there are definitely more rigid. Including a photo of what my Mac does when rising just one corner....it’s bending and all 3 other corners are still touching the table.

Did this happen to any of you guys? Is this normal?

Thanks!

Alright, I finally found time to get to the store. Here’s the update...left my Mac there thinking they will just tighten some screws and thats it. I mean yeah, just some sound from hinges sometimes and flexing body.
Unfortunately I got call - repair of antenna part and logic board test failing...need to change all that WOW!

Yeah seems like that 😕 Anyway, its a 2017 model bought in january - since that new case with etc because od dead speaker, now keyboard started to “behave” and this on the top 😟
Looks like after around 9 months, only part left from original Mac is going to be a display 😂

Yeah - that's how the warranty works.

Warranty provides for replacing failed parts, so those failed parts would be gone - which is a Good Thing™.
And, hopefully that leaves you with a working system.

I have heard that some folks get a new replacement after a third repair.
That might be an internet myth, I don't personally know anyone with that result...

Will definitely let yo know what happened. This is “just” a second time of repair. Anyway it always happens when I need my computer the most :/ I would be grateful for any solution that is fast.

Alright, even the display did not stay 😂
My main problem was not solid laptop body and minor thing was “clacking” in hinges. So they changed antenna module and a whole screen (only logic board from my original MB left now lol). About the body, they did nothing and said its perfectly normal. One side is fine now, left side is kinda “wobbly” as was before. But thats I guess because cover cant be properly seated on that side as its a liiittle bit bent since the first repair.

If you can compare to a similar MBPro, new in the store, and your hinge issue does not appear on another MBPro - why do you let the shop give you the answer that it is normal?
It should be a service issue that an Apple-authorized service shop should fix.

Open a case with Apple - call Apple support for your country.
Maybe you have already done this - call Apple again.
