Hi all
I have a 13 inch late 2009 MacBook Pro which has been running well since I bought it three years ago. Lately it has been getting full and very slow so I decided to buy a portable hard drive to backup my files and free up some space on the computer. I was emptying the trash this morning when it froze for 10 minutes before I was forced to hold the power button to shut it down. Now, when I try to start it, it goes to the grey screen with Apple logo Nd spinning wheel, and doesn't get any further. I have tried command + t and holding shift during startup, and all I get is the apple logo with the occasional flash of the circle with a cross through it. I tried booting into safe mode, but exactly the same thing happens.
Ironically, this is the first trouble I have had with my MacBook and it was on the same day I ventured to back up my files (although I had not backed them up before my computer gave up)
Any suggestions? Much appreciated
Joe
