Macbook Pro Boot Issues

Hi,

I have a 2010 Macbook Pro 15 in.

I'm trying to do a clean install of 10.6, but everytime I try to start into the installation setup from a restart, it just gets stuck on the grey screen with the apple symbol. I've tried every kind of installation (dvd, external drive, remote install).

yea, all of those turn out fine. The computer boots fine. HD is checked and good.

It's just that it won't boot from an installation cd. Whenever I try to do a clean install, it just gets stuck on the apple logo screen.
