Macbook Pro Boot Time

I have a 120GB OCZ VECTOR SSD and when I first installed it the performance was amazing. It started up in like 10 seconds. Now it takes almost 30 seconds and and I still have 40 GB free. Also If I buy a second 500GB hard drive will it affect my laptops performance or anything
