My MacBook Pro (Leopard and 4 Gig of Ram) is giving me fits. Very slow start up time - Minimum of 3 minutes to usually 5 minutes. I travel and on this trip I could not connect to the internet either by wireless or hardwire in hotels with a notable exception. I could go to the lobby of one hotel and log on. The hotel I am in now is allowing me to log on via hardwire. The last hotel I had to be within 30 feet of the router to log on.
Now when I do get the computer started it is giving me a flashing globe signal for about 20 flashes then goes to the normal Apple. No unusual noises. I checked the system preferences and the sys monitor and at one point it said to check battery (recently replaced by Apple) and now it shows it good. I run Parallels and that is also very hit or miss as to if it will work or not. I am not a computer person so I don't understand a lot of what people are telling of how to check things out. I have been trying for the last hour to log on to the Apple Concierge to schedule service but it just won't log on to their site.
Does this sound more like a hard drive problem? The computer is about 2.5 years old.
Thanks, I hope I can get back on at the next hotel to check answers.
Dan
